Q: How deep should a fence post be set?

A: As a rule, at least one-third of the post’s length should be below ground. For example:

• 6ft above ground = set at least 2ft in the ground.

• 4ft above ground = set at least 1ft 6in in the ground.

Always use concrete or post mix to secure posts, especially for taller fences or exposed areas.

Q: Are your fence posts treated?

A: Yes - all our timber fence posts are pressure treated to help protect against rot and insect damage. This makes them suitable for long-term use in gardens, farms or commercial settings.
