A: A solid sub-base is essential. Start with a compacted layer of hardcore or MOT Type 1, followed by a weed membrane. Then, spread and compact your granite chippings to a depth of around 50mm for light use or 75mm for regular vehicle traffic.

Q: Will coloured granite fade over time?
A: Granite is highly UV-resistant and keeps its colour well. It may lighten slightly in very sunny areas, but regular rinsing can restore its bold appearance by removing dust and debris.

Q: How much granite chipping do I need for a driveway or garden?
A: As a guide, one bulk bag (approx. 850kg) of granite chippings will cover 10–12m² at a depth of 50mm. For driveways, a thicker layer may be required, so check your project specs or speak to our team for tailored advice.
