Q: What weed membranes do you offer?

A: We stock a range of products to suit various landscaping jobs:

  • Standard weed control membrane – lightweight and easy to lay, ideal under decorative gravel or bark.

  • Heavy-duty weed membrane – thicker and more durable, suitable for longer-lasting jobs or where foot traffic is expected.

  • Weed-suppressing fleece – a non-woven option that lets water through while blocking weeds.

Choose based on how much wear the area will get and how long you need it to last.

Q: How do I choose between standard and heavy-duty membrane?

A: Go for standard membrane under borders, mulching, or light paths. Use heavy-duty membrane where you expect more wear, such as driveways, patios, or areas with heavy footfall, to ensure the barrier doesn’t tear.

Q: Can I lay gravel or bark directly on top of weed membrane?

A: Yes, you can. Lay the membrane flat, overlap the edges by around 100mm (10cm), and secure with landscape pins or staples. Then add your gravel, bark, or chippings straight on top for a neat finish, while keeping weeds at bay.

Q: Will the membrane block water and nutrients?

A: No. Our weed membranes let water and nutrients pass through while preventing weeds from growing. They help keep soil healthy and plants growing, without hindering drainage.

Q: How long does the membrane last?

A: Standard weed membrane typically lasts around 5 years, while heavy-duty options can last 10 years or more, depending on exposure and wear. For long-term jobs, heavy-duty is the safer bet.

Q: Do you offer delivery for weed membrane?
