The Redwood Dado Rail, also known as a chair rail, is a horizontally fixed moulding that is placed at around waist height on an interior wall. The rail is usually a decorative statement, however it can also be used to protect furniture or other objects from damaging the wall. This rail is made from Redwood, which is cut from the Redwood tree, and features a reddish-brown colour and a straight grain pattern. The wood is decay and rot resistant, which helps it last the lifetime of the house.
