Our range of plasterboard adhesives includes everything you need to reinforce and smooth plasterboards. Whether you’re dot and dabbing with traditional plasterboard adhesive, using fast-setting adhesive foam, or going for scrim tape we’ve got solutions to make fixing plasterboard quick and easy. Ideal for walls, ceilings and stud frames, you can count on our range to hold strong and provide a smooth finish.

Q: What types of plasterboard adhesive do you offer?

A: We offer a choice of three main plasterboard adhesives to suit different fixing methods and site needs:

• Bagged Adhesive – Traditional powder-based options like Gyproc DriWall Adhesive (25kg) are ideal for dot-and-dab installation. Mix on site and apply directly to masonry walls for a strong, reliable bond.

• Foam Adhesive – Time-saving alternatives like Soudal Trade Plasterboard Adhesive Foam (750ml) come ready to use. These expanding PU foams speed up installation, especially on ceilings or awkward areas, and reduce mixing and mess.

• Scrim Tape – Self-adhesive mesh tape used to reinforce joints between boards. Essential for taping and jointing, it helps prevent cracks at seams and ensures a smooth finish ready for plastering. We have plenty of scrim tape options available, including Everbuild Euroscrim Tape.

Q: When should I use foam adhesive instead of traditional plasterboard adhesive?

A: Foam adhesives are ideal for quick installations and smaller projects. They are ready-to-use, require no mixing, and cure rapidly, allowing work to continue about an hour after application. Traditional adhesives are better suited for larger areas and provide more working time for adjustments.

Q: How much coverage can I expect from plasterboard adhesive?

A: Coverage depends on the adhesive type and the condition of your surfaces.

• Bagged Adhesive – A 25kg bag usually covers around two standard 2.4m x 1.2m plasterboards when using 25mm dabs at 20% contact.

• Adhesive Foam – A 750ml can could cover up to 12m², depending on how it's applied and the surface texture.

• Scrim Tape – Each roll typically provides 90 metres of coverage, making it ideal for taping along plasterboard seams before skimming.
